So I thought I'd ask you guys how you'd rank many of the premier Nuzlockers who have become quite notable on the Web. As I watch them more and more, however, I start noticing that they can show moments of genuine brilliance and stupidity (whether that be through overplanning, underplanning, forgetting a specific mechanic (could just be muscle memory, though), not playing around critical hits, relying to much on luck, etc.). So recently, Nuzlockes (especially hardcore ones) have been all the rage, and I'm certainly no exception when it comes to getting sucked into the art. I'm kinda using this question as testing grounds for a rather large poll-like post I'm going to submit later as a New Year's celebration, so some feedback would be very much appreciated. I don't know if any of you don't consider B/W Nuzlocke completed until you beat Alder, but I will respectfully disagree. I managed to lose quite a lot of pokémon to random trainers, but my worst episode was indeed when Cheren's Simipour on Route 7, under the rain, was able to kill my Dewott (Bach), Stoutland (Strauss) and Duosion (Ravel) ouspeeding with a boosted Scald that I highly underestimated.Įven though plenty of mistakes were made, I'm happy to have been more attentive and resourceful in strategizing the play. I had no problems with any of the gym leaders, and found the E4 also quite manageable. I grinded a lot to always match the level cap and got overall pretty luck with the encounters and the natures. Reich the Zekrom (used only against N/Ghetsis), sacrificed for a safe switch to Ghetsis's Hydreigon Poulanc the Gurdurr, ravaged by a crit from Ghetsis's Hydreigon Wagner the Druddigon, perished to Ghetsis's Seismitoad Cage the Bisharp (Night Slash / Faint Attack / Metal Claw / Iron Defense), boxed before N and Ghetsis Monteverdi the Archeops (Acrobatics / U-turn / Crunch / Rock Slide) Šostakovič the Darmanitan (Flare Blitz / Fire Punch / Facade / Belly Drum) Verdi the Amoonguss (Giga Drain / Synthesis / Toxic / Clear Smog) I'm not good enough to play the hardcore version, so I allowed myself to heal during battles, even if this means this Nuzlocke is not a real Hardcore Nuzlocke, but for the moment, that's ok. No overlevelling past the gym leader's ace. If a pokémon faints, it is considered dead and must be boxed. This means you can't get more than one encounter per each species. Dupes clause: you can re-roll encounters until you get a unique one. You have to catch only the first pokémon you encounter in each area. After dropping Platinum quite a few times and wiping to Clair in HeartGold, I decided to try my luck in White, the game I probably replayed the most. I started playing with Nuzlocke rules some time ago but always either dropped out without finishing after losing a valuable team member, or straight out wiped. If you don't think any of the above situations apply, you can use this feedback form to request a review of this block.Ok so it finally happened that I won a Pokémon Nuzlocke.
